Sunwah International Reports Third Quarter Results
Kingsway Capital of Canada

Founded in 2001, Toronto-based Kingsway Capital of Canada Inc. focuses on the provision of a diverse offering of corporate advisory services, acting as the nexus for North American business and Asian capital.  As a subsidiary of TSX-listed, Hong Kong based financial services provider, Sunwah International — which offers over two decades of capital markets experience and maintains offices throughout Greater China and Toronto — we specialize in advising and guiding select North American businesses with Asian diversification, using our expertise and extensive relationship network to link North American deal flow with Eastern capital and markets.  As well, through a recently re-focused business model and team, we now offer a refreshed domestic strategy that targets North American small to mid-cap companies.

Through our newly revitalized management team with strong track records in investment banking, research, sales, trading and private equity management, Kingsway Canada services our niche markets by maintaining a holistic approach to client solutions.  Through experience, we have accumulated an awareness of the issues that our clients will face and their solutions. Complementing this distinct approach and local market knowledge is an acute understanding of international business transactions as well as access to deep relationships and strategic partnerships in Asia through our parent company and affiliates as well as our ties to prominent Hong Kong-based international conglomerate, Sunwah Group (our parent company’s primary shareholder and lead capital supplier).

Corporate Advisory Services

With over ten years’ operating experience in Canada, Kingsway Canada combines solid domestic credentials with strong Asian connections to offer premium corporate advisory services to our North American client base across a three-pronged business model:

International Strategy:
Our international strategy capitalizes on our unique positioning and ability to identify select businesses, particularly in the natural resources sector, with the potential to thrive in Asia and to assist these clients in developing a strategy and accessing the financing and relationships necessary to succeed.  Leveraging our parent company’s on-the-ground presence and track record in Hong Kong and throughout China, we are also adept in assisting clients with the everyday complexities associated with diversification in Asia, including navigating multiple time zones, overcoming language barriers, complying with new regulatory environments, penetrating local investor networks, and identifying an economic and efficient method of establishing a presence.

Without the right help, the effort to access Asian markets can put a tremendous strain on a company’s current resources.  This is where Kingsway Canada is able to provide significant value.  Our corporate advisory services are designed to advise small to medium enterprises throughout the formulation and implementation of an organized strategy for successfully expanding within Asia.

Domestic Strategy:
Through a refocused business model, Kingsway Canada also offers quality domestic corporate advisory services, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and general advisory mandates, to North American, primarily Canadian, businesses.  Our revitalized leadership offers significant natural resource experience and deep investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets and asset management expertise.

Mining Strategy:
Like our international strategy, a key element of Kingsway Canada’s competitive edge in the mining space lies in our parent and affiliate companies’ track record for successfully expanding in Asia.  In addition to our widespread reach into Asian capital markets, we offer access to a deep relationship network, which is critical for joint venture partnership formation and the establishment of strategic relationships in Asia.

Kingsway Canada’s people are also critical to our mining strategy and value proposition.  Our leadership offers significant international capital markets expertise with strong mining backgrounds, comprising seasoned professionals such as:  Robert Fung, one of Canada’s leading investment bankers in natural resources for three decades; Douglas Betts, offering 25 years experience in international business transactions with a focus on Asia and natural resources; and Jonathan Robinson, who contributes significant capital markets and advisory experience, including participation in over $2 billion in transactions over the last four years alone.
